Biography
Aurélien Rupp is a trained engineer and a self-taught artist based in Paris.
His atypical path has led him to transcend the boundaries of everyday life and to break free from established systems and their codes, opening through painting a space where sensitivity, creativity, and imagination prevail beyond any rational rigor.
He began his journey within Street Art, where he forged his first artistic gestures. The use of spray paint and stencils—designed from his own photographs and drawings—soon became his signature. Each stencil is used only once, ensuring the uniqueness of every work. This commitment to authenticity, combined with the raw energy inherited from the street, has left a lasting imprint on his practice.
He soon turned towards abstraction, guided by his musical background, which nourishes an instinctive search for rhythm and movement. While the spray can remains his preferred tool, he enriches his process through the integration of everyday materials (paper, cardboard, rubber bands, clips, adhesive tape, etc.). His canvases become vibrant spaces where colors, textures, and flows converge, giving rise to compositions that are at times cosmic, at times organic, yet always infused with the primal energy of Street Art.
